CASI Level 1 Snowboard training
Go back to basics in a second discipline now and learn how to teach snowboarding to a beginner level. Covering falling leaf to first turns and the start of carving. It would help a lot if you had been practising a bit of boarding throughout your course so this isn't such a big shock!
CASI Level 1 Exam
Sit the Level 1 Snowboard exam and hopefully become bi-snocial and master of two disciplines!
Get an insider's view of what it's like living and learning in resort.
If you are really really serious about being a ski instructor as a career, then this course is the ultimate stepping stone to making you as employable as you can be! Ski instructor jobs are getting more competitive, so by being able to teach snowboarding too, you can try and cover all bases and hopefully find yourself that dream job in the future!
We ask that you are a Level 3 or above on our ability scale. Generally having 3-4 weeks on snow prior to the course is enough, and the most important thing is a good attitude to improving and learning new skills! A bit of prior snowboarding ability would be helpful too for this course!
We generally receive 100% pass rate on the Level 1, and traditionally a similarly high level for the Level 2 as well. So with the right mind set it?s an easy one to pass!
As far as the ski school are concerned they?ve had 13 weeks to screen you, during which time you?ve been trained by their finest instructors, in their own resort. In effect, the whole process is a training period for the Lake Louise Ski School! We?re proud to say that everyone who wanted a job has got one in the past, the only stickler can be the Canadian visa, but that?s another story! With the added bonus of a dual qualification, you shouldn't have a problem finding work around the world!
Just a two minute walk to all the shops and bars - we are the closest of any other provider in town.
The majority of people who do this course are solo travellers. There is a large Basecamp community in resort, and your Resort Manager will make sure you're quickly introduced to everyone.
