Niseko comprises of 4 linked ski resorts ? Grand Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village and An?nupuri, located around one huge mountain. There are groomed beginner slopes near the bottom of each village centre, with runs getting longer and steeper as you go up the mountain. Niseko has the best lift infrastructure of any Japanese resort, and the runs link together well so it is easy to explore this large area.
The off-piste skiing in Niseko is world-renowned and extensive, within the resort areas and via side country and backcountry courses. There are 11 gates across the resorts with access to some of the best terrain and powder stashes you will ever find.
One of the best kept secrets of Niseko is its night skiing. This is the best time to go riding; when the mountain takes on a whole different perspective. The main runs are lit up at night and the light penetrates through the trees making for some challenging skiing or riding. A powder hound?s dream! Lifts are open until 8.30pm every night of the week during the season so it is easy to take advantage of this amazing experience!
Courses in Niseko
A lot of the accommodation in Niseko is based around modern apartments and traditional lodges. We have opted from a "home-from-home" lodge in a great location in Hirafu Village. Close to restaurants and bars, and with regular shuttle buses to the slopes and other areas of town.
Hirafu Village is the main centre of Niseko and has a large selection of restaurants and bars to suit any tastes. Alongside traditional sushi and Japanese restaurants, there are also Western options so there is always something for everyone. Aside from drinking and dining, the truly unique aspect of Niseko nightlife is the night skiing on every evening until 8:30pm and included in standard lift passes. Enjoy riding like never before with the floodlights casting shadows in the trees and the peace of the mountain all around.
Another favourite Japanese apres-ski activity is relaxing in traditional Onsens or spas after a hard day of powder riding. There are many to choose from in Niseko, from upmarket spas to natural outdoor hot springs with amazing views over the mountains.
