Val d'Isere Week 10

This was the first week of the Basi 2 examination so we saw the level step up once again. It seemed like every mogule field in l’espace killy was lined with basecamper’s determined to conquer them! By the end of the week legs were sore but feedback reported a dramatic rise in standard as the examiners had been drilling clients on all types of terrain.

The first ever European X games was held in Tignes this week and lunch breaks were based around Val Claret so we were able to get a peak at the competition. The jumps were huge and the snowmobiles threw back flips that impressed all. On Friday there was a trip across to Tignes so we could all watch the final of the men’s half pipe. Despite Baltic conditions the atmosphere and performance was phenomenal. We all met in Saloon in Val Claret to warm up with a few vin chauds.

All the basecampers got together on Saturday for a bbq on the slopes to celebrate George’s birthday. Sunday was followed with intense practice to get people up to the technical standard required for level 2.
