The 2013 Basecamp Cornwall Reunion

What a weekend we all had down at the Ticket to Ride Surf School in Perranporth, Cornwall. It was great to see all those mountainy faces enjoy a surf in the Atlantic. We were blessed with a gorgeous day on Saturday and couldn't have asked for better conditions for the big group surf lesson. Julian (TTRide Surf School Manager), headed up the lesson with his team of instructors and we soon saw 30+ people venture into the sea. For some of the guys, it was their first surfing experience, a slight change from powder filled winter they had just had!

You can't be in Cornwall without having a Cornish Pasty! Having got out of the sea we all went into town to sample the local speciality. The afternoon was filled with beach rounders, a few pints of cider and some much deserved sun bathing. We had arranged for a few bands to entertain us in the evening and they certainly did the job! The BBQ kicked off with a huge spread from the guys at The Seiners Hotel with the lovely background of Perranporth beach and relaxing melodies from The Entourage. As the evening progressed so did the vibe, with the Mojo Filters entertaining us with cheesy covers and flangy guitars! The evening went on until the early hours, with some of the guys heading to the beach to finish the night in style. 

Sunday consisted of great 4ft surf, a few hungover faces and some sad goodbyes. All in all a great weekend was had by all! Bring on the next reunions in Val d'Isere!
