Basecamp Stories – Will Oakley
We met Will Oakley back in 2011 at the London Ski Show. Following meeting Will, we quikcly welcomed him to the 2012/13 Val d'Isere team. Will secured a great price with an early booking and had 14 months to look forward to his time in the mountains. Will arrived for his course in Val d'Isere in January 2013 and quickly settled in, skiing, partying and generally having an awesome time. Will sailed through his Level 1 with flying colors. Embarking on his level 2 training we quickly realised his skiing potential and his ability to crack people up left right and centre. Will proved himself in the level 2 exam and it was all smiles at the end of course party at the X Games in Tignes.
Will's instructors and Basecamp were so impressed with his efforts that he was offered a BASI Level 3 Scholarship with BASS for the 2013/14 season. Sadly, Will had to decline due to University commitments, however plans to return after Uni to embark on more seasons and some ski instructing.
