Are these the best skis in Europe?
RealSkiers comment that “whilst many other brands are obsessed with cutting costs and boosting margins, HEAD stick to what they know will never fail them: a stout wood core, two sheets of titanal carefully calibrated and pre-impregnated fibreglass to wrap it all up. To those who might quibble some of HEAD’s skis are over-built, we would counter, wouldn’t you rather own a brand that errs on the side of excellence?”
Both the Magnum and Speed comprise KERS technology, which works like a turbo charge, stiffening the fibres towards the back of the ski during the outturn to boost the skier effortlessly and rapidly into the next turn.
Whilst this may seem somewhat technical, the age of skiing is developing at a rate that is difficult to comprehend. Whilst skiers around the world are accomplishing the impossible, one should agree, it takes two to tango.
Having skied on the 2012/13 Magnum last winter I became fixated with their ability to constructively improve my skiing to a level I didn’t think were achievable.
The Basecamp/HEAD partnership came to light over a beer in Val d’Isere with HEAD representative Mike Crawford. Mike wouldn’t bring to end the quality of the iSupershape range, so naturally it made sense to acquire a bunch for the 2013/14 season.
Basecamp recommend the iSupershape range to anyone looking to take their skiing to the next level with piste performance, speed and technique in mind.
Basecamp have a range of Magnums and Speeds available at 25% off RRP including bindings.
So are these the best skis in Europe? Basecamp vote yes.
