Meribel Diary Week 6

So as Week 6 in Meribel is drawing to a close we all all wondering where all the time has gone, flown by. We sadly had to say goodbye to a few people yesterday but with a bumper snowfall promised for the next couple of days we all look forward to the week ahead.

BASI

The BASI courses had a slightly different week as they were shadowing the BASS and Snow Delight children’s ski groups, giving them a unique insight of actual teaching and the trials this brings. All the BASIers were also able to practice some teaching on the groups thus putting into play the sessions they have been doing.

Performance

The Performance groups have had a big skiing week with most sessions concentrating on their long and short turns. As normal they also looked at skiing lots of different terrain and although unfortunately there has not been a huge amount of powder around.

Social

There have been 2 socials during the week with ice skating on the Tuesday night and a pub quiz on the Thursday. There was a special ice skating event on so the would be Torvel and Deans were able to try Ice Hockey and Ice Badminton while also showing off some excellent moves on the ice. The pub quiz was won by James, Fraser, Haydn and Luke with some excellent knowledge and for their excellence they received breakfast in bed.

Next Week

So coming up we have the BASI 2 tuition hotting up with 2 weeks to go before their assessments, the Performance Skiers will be getting involved with some of the new powder and we hope for a little bit of a rugby match.
